Michel Gagne
Complimentary Colors:
Gagne's works often are characterized with his complimentary colors, contrasting vividly yet keeping the designs simple and easy to comprehend.
Triad:
Another technique Gagne uses is triads, remaining specifically within the three colors that he began with. It is most common that two colors will be in the foreground interacting, while the third color will take the place of the background color.
Color Contrast & Neutrality
One thing, that seems to be Gagne's trademark, is the extreme use of color contrast and neutrality to make clear the intense points in the plotlines of his stories. It is done very gradually, with the center of each transition being a neutral point before one extreme or the other is met. The colors at the beginning do seem to be more neutral as well, not very bright, while the colors at the height of the conflict are most often very bright.
